Blue Race Bibs and Shorts

Chafing. That’s all that I could think about on the last 20 miles of the 2010 Dirty Kanza 200. It was like chopped liver down there. I couldn’t sit right for a week. It’s time I put those problems behind me.

Enter Italian fabrics and chamois so comfortable it reminds me of better times when my sweet mom took care of my nether regions with Desitin and baby powder. No kidding. My last big race was 157 miles. I was ready for the burning sensation down there in the after race shower as usual. There was none. Nada. Feeding your monkey just got a little less painful.

Made from high end Italian fabrics, flatlock stitching and a super comfortable, high-end, Italian chamois that I tested. I have ridden and tested other high-end bibs, and these are honestly my favorite. It’s all in the chamois.

Use simple detergents with no additives:
Never use detergents with fabric softeners, perfumes or any additive type product. The general rule of thumb is the simpler the better. Many detergents with additives leave ”surfactants” behind on a fabric’s fibers that inhibit the technical performance. Typically the best detergents to use will have ”Clear” or ”Free” in their names. Don’t pour the detergent directly onto the clothing, put it in the washer first, when you start the water.
Read the care content label:
On the inside of your garment, or on the hangcard, there are instructions for the care of that individual piece. Follow those directions. On finer fabrics, use a ”Gentle” cycle. Close all zippers.

You can use the dryer, carefully:
If you use a dryer be sure to use a lower / warm heat setting (Do NOT use a commercial dryer or a ”Hot” setting). If in doubt, hang the clothing to dry.
